PRE-APPROVED PLANS
In an effort to reduce the extraordinarily long permit time, we have started on the road to conformity with the development of two pre-approved packages. We have always believed that if a customer wants to change something about a floor plan, we want to accommodate them. That seems to put a burden on the building department that looks at each plan as if they have never seen a 3 bedroom rectangular ranch style home before, even if a similar plan ( read identical) has been approved many times before. We have started the pre-approved process where you can't make any changes at all to what has been approved and there is supposed to be some reduction in the time required for a permit.
These studios have been designed with the future in mind for people who need a place to live while a larger home is being planned, permitted, and built. They both can be permitted as a dwelling and later be converted to a use that allows them to stay as a conforming structure when another home is built.
Studio A is sized to qualify as a guest house to a larger home.
Studio B is sized and layed out to be converted to a garage.
